Back From The Windy City!

So I was late with the other post but here is a quick recap of our trip to the Windy City!

Well, wouldn't you know it.........it SNOWED while I was in Chicago!!!!!!! What is up with Spring this year. Course then Sunday the day we left was gorgeous and sunny. Just perfect......

You would not believe how windy it was when I took this picture!!! I could barely stand!

Sunday, we met up with DH's old roommate and had lunch with him at a fabulous restaurant overlooking Michigan Ave. I can't wait to go back there......The Grand Lux restaurant.....definitely head there if you are in the city! Faux painting everywhere, very french in feel with wrought iron banisters, Murano glass lights, colorful fun banquettes, etc.......This place was rocking though they were SO busy!

We checked out the American Girl store there & boy are we going to be in trouble in a few years. Course Little assistant #1 already has her first American girl doll courtsey of our neice & nephew. They sent her Itty Bitty Baby for Christmas! This time in the store though all she wanted was lip gloss, can you believe it!!! DH was relived to have gotten out of there for under $5!!

Realized how much I really do miss the city & am already busy planning a summer trip over tgo to Navy Pier, Lincoln Park Zoo & Much more!!

So back to reality this week, have tons to do.....so better get busy.At least it looks & feels like spring here today in Michigan! My tulips are coming up and I see all the buds on the trees........sigh!

Chicago Bound

Well, we are off to Chicago to visit family, friends, some stores & doing some sightseeing!!! We are hopping on a train to head to the Windy City. Little Assistant #1 is SO excited about the train ride she can't stand it.........should be fun since we normally drive or fly since Chicago isn't that far from us. Can't wait to take the little assistants for a day off to Shedd's Aquarium & to the top of the John Hancock building!



This should be a wonderful weekend especially since I spent tons of time yesterday trying to find a hotel downtown that wasn't a complete fortune, LOL!! I think there are 3+ conventions happening this weekend so there are not a lot of rooms left in the city. But the travel agent in me prevailed and found us a fabulous hotel right in the middle of the Magnificent Mile perfect for everything that we have planned to do. Ben was very impressed! LOL!!! The hotel that we both love the Palmer House was available but the pool is closed so....no dice on this trip. Hopefully next time. I will post more about our trip when I get back. Keeping our fingers & toes crossed that the weather holds out for us!



Looking forward to hopefully seeing Ben's old roommate & college fraternity buddy as well as some family that lives in Chicagoland and of course checking out some the great boutiques in Bucktown as well as a few other neighborhoods. I can't wait to get over to Rush and check out what new restaurants that have popped up since I was there last......I have a couple of fav's that I love to visit.



I know, it's not down south where its already warm but it is Chicago. Can't tell I love this city can you? I would live there in a heartbeat, honestly! I lived there for about 3 months in a downtown apartment while I was training with a great company that I worked for some time back and really fell for the city in a big way. I just don't get over there as often as I would like, although maybe that will change in the future!

So this is what it has looked like outside the UpNorth Beach Studio's for the last several months....snowy, icy, beautiful but honestly
this Southern girl is ready for some major sunshine!!!!

I get very inspired when I am at the cottage UpNorth. Peaceful, quiet, nature all around, everything is back to basics and the simple things in life........how can you not be inspired by that.

I love how the snow & ice form on the beautiful blue/green waters on Lake Michigan's West Bay........Looks almost like frosting on a cake, don't you think?

Back to the prsent though..........We had a great weekend UpNorth and just loved being by the water, watching the swans in front of the cottage, seeing the last bit of snow melt away which means that summer is finally getting near. Ben is so excited that he will be back on his beloved sailboat very soon!!!
Soon we will have beach fires, sailing the day away, drives through the Michigan wine country, cherry blossoms ( Traverse City is the Cherry Capital of the World), eating cherries by the pound, looking for the Northern Lights as well as enjoying the sparkling stars that light up the sky at night.......
can't tell that I am dreaming of summer can you?

Well, at least in the meantime I got on the beach with the sand in my toes to take some new shots of some of my current favorite jewelry! This is one of my fav's! Black & White with twisted sterling silver........You can wear this with anything!!! Fabulous yet classic.

Love this one of a kind faceted moonstone & Swarovski crystal necklace. The moonstone has such variations and is just stunning in person!

This necklace is such fun! Multi-colored pearls, sterling silver, handblown glass & a Fabulous Swarovksi Crystal Starfish!!! Adorable and perfect for all of our Beach Lovers out there!!!

This necklace is from our June Beach Collection. It is called Sanibel! Love the Simplicity of the necklace with the freshwater pearls & Swarovski crystal.........

The sun is setting on our weekend UpNorth.......we always wish we could stay here forever and not go back to our normal lives.....but what a blessing & treat to be able to get away from it all and get energized again......

I will live you with this parting necklace for the day.......it reminds me of the beautiful waters at the cottage. So soft and serene.......yet strong and powerful.

Been Too Long

Whew! Just realized it has been much, much too long since I posted here! We have been really busy here at the Beach Studios with both Beach Haus Designs & The June Beach Collection......ok, ok, so we have been really busy with the new June Beach Collection to be totally honest.

Confetti Necklace

So here is a run down of what is happening at the Beach.......we now have 9 sales reps for our new line-The June Beach Collection. YIPPPEEE!!! So if you are in the New England area, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio or Florida drop us a line at customerservice@junebeach.com and I will put you in touch with one of our wholesale reps- Janet, Jerry, Kak & her fabulous girls if you want to carry our sparkling collection of jewels in your store!

We have started on Collection II for the June Beach Collection and already as well as a special limited edition collection that we are doing for the summer! Can't wait! Also, working on a mini Beach Haus Designs catalog finally after being asked for years from our customers for one.......we'll let you know when it is done.

We just added a new fabulous store down in Florida, Julie's of Naples to our roster of sparkling stores that are carrying our collections. Looking forward to getting know Julie, her fabulous store & customers even better in the months ahead!

Ally at Keylime Clothing on Sanibel has been just rocking selling both Beach Haus Designs & the June Beach Collection. Ally is such a big cheerleader of ours & we Love her. No idea what we would do without her. We just designed a special piece for a silent auction that she is the chairperson for that is raising money for some wonderful organizations in the Fort Meyers area! She is such the mover & shaker!

Christy at the Black Swan is another of our fabulous stores and she is just dynamite! Such fabulous taste, wish I could buy all of the beautiful clothes that she buys for her store. Christy is one of our oldest & dearest customers. She has been selling Beach Haus Designs for over 5 years now! We are going to have to celebrate with a big trunk show party this year! What fun that will be for her, us and all of our loyal Black Swan customers! She is such a gem!

So much is happening here......have some other new things in the works but can't let the cat out of the bag yet so you will just have to wait. We think it is going to be a fun and exciting year here at the Beach Studios!

We are also in the process of planning a Beach Party & Sale at the Beach Studios in Frankenmuth soon where you will be able to buy our sparkling jewels in person at our studio as well as one of kinds, limited editions, samples & some great clearance pieces! We are also going to invite some of our other creative friends to join us with their fabulous wares just to make it an even better day of shopping and friendship.

It is available wholesale to speciality stores across the country and needless to say we are really excited about this new collection...... we have some wonderful classic pieces, fun resort designs as well as great fashion & trend jewelry in the collection!

Lots of Goodies From Tucson

So Tucson was warm, sunny, the resort that we always stay at & love was under renovations so I am sure it will be fabulous again on our next trip out .....

However, despite all of that I did find lots of goodies that I can't wait to turn into something fabulous for the Beach Haus Designs line & the new June Beach Collection!!!



GLW was great & huge as usual. Manning House had a couple of booths that I just drooled over & bought some wonderful artisan pieces. Love helping to support other artist especially when they have such beautiful designs & quality.......AGTA of course is fabulous! My better pearl supplier there had some of the most amazing pearls......my favorite this year is without a doubt the chocolate pearls. Ben thought I was just dreaming about chocolate until he saw them and agreed that they were fabulous! Course the prices on them were something too, LOL!!!! I have a couple of thoughts on what I am going to mix them with...........

Ok so back to some of the other goodies I found........lots of black coral in fun shapes, some interesting crystals that I got a smattering of (those of you who know me well, know I have a love affair with Swarovski so this was a big deal to buy these). They look MUCH better in person than they are showing up in my quick pics.......isn't that always the case though!
Also found some great new agate, new fun colors of turquoise that I am SO excited about I can't stand it and of course mother of pearl which I love in every shape, size, color, etc...........

Overall, a good trip. Checked out a few new shows that I had never been too and course my good ole standby. Just wish I could have made it to Swarovski's in time but due to a little birthday that we had the day before it wasn't possible this year.....maybe next year. Beadalon had some new really cool products that I am anxious to try as well as some cool enameled toggles that are too cool for words........

Starting looking for lots of new goodies to start showing up at the shows, stores & website soon as I get busy in the studio with all the other wonderful things that I found at the show that I am not showing you yet!!!!
