Resin Time Project with Carmi

Here is some great inspiration for you today!

Carmi over at Resin Crafts hosted a series that many designers including myself participated in recently.  We were each sent a pocket watch bezel and asked to create something with it using resin or resin epoxy clay.

She has been posting the submissions in groups for the last couple of weeks and it has been so fun to watch all of the various projects come through!

Such creativity and inspiration…….I am thrilled to have been included and of course, my project included Swarovski Elements Ceralun 2-part Epoxy Clay as well as other Swarovski Elements crystals and embellishments……

Check out the projects, I have no doubt you will be very inspired both by some of the stories of some of the designers but the projects themselves……

Get ready to be dazzled! Radiant Orchid is Pantone’s 2014 Color of the Year!

Pantone is considered the leading authority for color communication from designer to manufacturer to retailer to customer. Their new color trend announcements are eagerly anticipated across the globe.

Radiant Orchid is a beautiful blend of bold fuchsia and deep purple with pink undertones. It’s a vibrant and inviting color that looks good on most skin types — perfect for making jewelry! (Think about using sugilite gemstones or cyclamen opal crystal beads.) This color has already shown up on runways at Prada, Gucci, Chanel, and Dior, and it will be a prominent look for outerwear, tops, and dresses at Topshop, Zara, and Old Navy this spring.

Pantone’s 2014 spring slate of colors is so wearable! Gorgeous tones that range from bright to pastel provide stability and balance.

Along with Radiant Orchid, the vivid tones of Celosia Orange, Cayenne, Freesia, and Dazzling Blue add energy and spice to the mix. Capture those colors with hyacinth, Indian red, sunflower, and Capri blue crystal beads. On the lighter side, Hemlock, Violet Tulip, and Placid Blue provide a romantic, tranquil counterpoint. Achieve that softness with Pacific opal and tanzanite crystals and blue lace agate. Warm Sand and sophisticated Paloma act as versatile neutrals.

According to Pantone, Radiant Orchid suggests creativity and ingenuity — so take it to heart! Experiment with new ideas and color combinations. Pair the softer pastels with a bolder hue for an au courant look, or combine Radiant Orchid with Celosia Orange and Freesia to really energize your color palette. Here’s a bracelet I designed that includes the Color of the Year. I love the sparkle of crystals, and weaving sequins into the chain allows for extra sparkle and shine this season.
BR Jamie North bracelet
For a modern take on Radiant Orchid tones, designer Jamie North of Glitz-N-Kitz combined leather, Swarovski Elements crystals, and metal components in this unique bracelet.

Radiant Orchid is kicking off a dazzling year for color! For more inspiration, check out our Pinterest board. What will you make with Pantone’s Color of the Year? EmailBead Style with your design and check future posts to see a few of our favorites!

Blog Hop- Dazzle-It Tassels blog

So one of my favorite people in the world asked if I would be ok participating in a blog hop for John Bead Corp based in Toronto, Canada……Carmi really had to twist my arm ( LOL!!! Don't believe it!)  I love to create, love Carmi and love John Bead!  Course one of my other favorite people in the world Fernando DeSaliva, a fellow Swarovski Elements Ambassador, works with John Bead to create some of the most fabulous designs!

So drum roll, here are a few of my fav designs using their latest and greatest tassels that are trending big time!!  Loads of colors but all of the suede tassels, lacing, etc is  all available  on their website.  Keep in mind they are a wholesale only site but seriously they are more than fabulous, great service and well, cool designs as well as they are "on trend" which those of you who know and follow me, know that is SO important these days in the flash trend moments on FB, Pinterest, Polyvore and more!

Here are a few of my favorite pieces I designed featuring John Bead's new Dazzle-It Tassels:

love this fabulous Garden party style bracelet, been making this for years but seems SO updated and fresh with the tassel from Dazzle -It by John Bead

With all of the native and western influences these days this seed beaded bracelet was a natural to add to my tassel collection!! LOVE!!!!  Might just wear this bracelet tomorrow…what do you think???

Classic, clean and simple.  Sometimes that is exactly what makes up the best designs!

this is my nod to the holiday designs that are out there.  Love the tassel influences but the crochet and the soldered pendant really become the main event accented perfectly with the tassels!

Let me know what you design with the tassel trend!  Can't wait to see!
